The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in Manhattan, New York

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was placed near Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan right away after Thanksgiving day. Rockefeller Center becomes on the Christmas capital during these winter holidays. So, tourists who visit New York in this period come to this place first. New yorkers like and visit Christmas capital too. At least, once for winter holiday season.

Main Christmas tree is natural unlike most other trees in the Big Apple. Its height is 98 feet, its weight is more then 2000 pounds. This year Christmas tree was delivered from Oneonta, state of New York. It was a gift of Graig Eichler to New York City.

The tradition of placing of the tree appeared in 1931. But, the light garland and the star on top were put on the tree later. Christmas tree has 30,000 LEDs now and the star of Swarovski on the top. Interesting fact that weight of this star is about 500 pounds, its diameter is about 10 feet!

Everybody can see this sightseeing in New York City since November, 30 until January, 7.

P.S. We saw like a minimum 3 stars of Swarovski in Rockefeller Center. There is one on the tree and there are two on the postaments. So, people which like cristalls of this company can take pics for memory.
